Jeremy Carmen Benefit

               Jeremy Carmen Benefit

Me & The Carman's

Have you ever been effected by cancer in one way or another? Family member, friend or even yourself? Well we have and that is why we did not hesitate to put together this benefit for The Carmen family. We wanted to give them a night to put everything aside and to have a fun, stress and worry free night. I know that the stress and worry never goes away because I have lost my mother to cancer and I have battled cancer twice so we know that never goes away but at least it was not the first thing on The Carmen family's mind.
Jeremy & Shannon

We reached out to some amazing local bands, an amazing concert photographers, and a well respected booking company here in Columbus, Ohio to help with making this concert happen. It was absolutely amazing and honor to see the bands, family, friends, strangers ect to come together and show support for Jeremy and his family. However most importantly seeing the smiles, happiness, and pure joy on Jeremy and his families faces was absolutely priceless. The fact that we got to help an amazing family have the night of their life and to just listen to music and hangout with friends was our biggest accomplishment with this blog. All bands played fantastic! their sets was amazing and their stage presence was on point and they made sure that everyone knew why they were there and pointed out that this concert was for Jeremy and Jeremy doesn't show much emotions however by the end of the benefit show I'm positive I seen Jeremy choking up.

Causeways

Causeways, Avanti, Liquid6teen and A Decade Apart donated their time and Hilary Lee of Chicks In The Pit also donated her time for this event and we couldn't more grateful for these amazing people. Each band played for 40mins to an hour, there was raffles, bake sale and merch that all proceeds went to the Carmen family and we could have not brought together a more caring group of people then we did for this benefit. Thank you to everyone that has came out for this event and a very special thank you to ALL of the bands, Chicks In The Pit, and It's All Good Booking for helping us make this an amazing night for Jeremy and his family.

Interview with Liquid6teen

                                                          Liquid6Teen

On Wednesday November 1st we got the opportunity to interview Liquid6Teen at their rehearsal spot and it was awesome.
They were very professional and considerate but with a lot of laughs. We asked our questions and in the interviews the artist are allowed and encouraged to add anything that they want and these guys did just that! for a metal band they threw out their other favorite artist from Johnny Cash to Dr. Dre and their favorite movies. We also had to ask the question "how did you get your band name" I mean come on "Liquid6Teen" is a unique name, right? however we didn't get the story behind it but we have thought of the many reasonings behind it. Can you try to guess where they got the name?? We also got to see them practice 4 songs and I can honestly say that the passion they have for what they do is mind blowing and exciting because you know that there is still amazing things to come from these guys. At the end of the interview it took a different turn, as we are Thanking them for taking the time to do this interview with us they also thanked us for our support of the local band scene.

Supporting the local band scene is always on our priority list because the many artist that you like, listen to and hear on the radio everyday has been on the local band scene. Without these artist you would not have all of the fabulous music that is out there today. We also appreciate these guys for taking their practice time to sit down with us and making this af great experience for us and for supporting this blog.

Thank you for inviting us to your practice and for sitting down with us for this blog! Also thank you for dealing with my craziness and having you guys hold up the #IHateJakeWeeks lanyard. My boss supports what I do outside of work and We support him in his #IHateJakeWeeks and it is funny when people ask me what the deal is with my lanyard.

99.7 The Blitz Presents Bobaflex 8/25/17

                       99.7 The Blitz Presents Bobaflex!

On Friday 8/25/17 I had attended a Bobaflex concert at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus Ohio with my friends Lori, Kathy & Jamie for Lori's birthday and as you could imagine we had a blast!! We got the chance to see Liquid6teen and Dread Engine perform as well. So this is going to be a post about the performances of these 3 amazing and unique bands,  Hope Ya'll enjoy!!!

                                                 Liquid 6Teen!

As my children and I are on the music scene A LOT because with work, my sons track, my daughter's marching band and my youngest daughter just starting Kindergarten music is huge and a very important part in our lives and that's how we spend our free time together. Unfortunately this was a concert without the kids, hey momma needs a night out with just the girls too!
So as we get to the venue Liquid 6teen was on and grabbed my attention fairly quickly with their
presence on stage. I have pointed out in earlier blogs that your presence on stage and being able to keep a crowds attention is a A++ because no one wants to go to a boring concert. Well these gentlemen put on a hell of a show and I was extremely impressed. After their set I had the pleasure of meeting the singer Aaron Benner and he was all around a really nice guy and very easy to speak with.
Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me and taking a photo!

                                     Dread Engine!

Dread Engine was the 2nd band that we saw and again the presence on stage and the energy of the band was fantastic. Going to a concert where you can have non stop fun and be entertained the whole time is rare. Out of all the concerts we go to this one will stick out for a very long time, their music is great and their personalities are awesome! got the chance to meet a couple of them at their merch table after their set and they were so kind to chat and take a picture with me and the Birthday girl! Loved the show!

Thank you so much for a great show, The chat and the photo's!

                                                         Bobaflex!

Bobaflex is an amazing band and I absolutely love their music! I love local bands and even more a band that is from my home state of West Virginia! They know what it takes to make a crowd to get up and jump and have an amazing time. This whole show had it all! excitement, fun, energy ect. This is definitely in my top 10 favorite concerts of all time and that is saying a lot. We had a great evening and Bobaflex was on point and loved every minute of it. Keep up the great work, your new album is fantastic and can not wait to hear a lot more from you guys!

Thank you to these 3 amazing bands for a great evening with great friends!
