So I know we all think about what life would be like if social media was taken away, Right? There is some good and bad things about social media but the one thing I love about it is you get to keep in contact with family members and friends that are far away and near. However when you are using it for networking/business to reach out to people, you really never know who you will come into contact with. Crystal and I both met Adam Whitehead on a social media platform, in my case it was TikTok and Crystal met him on Facebook.  Social Media platforms are a great way to network and grow your business(whatever your business may be).

Crystal is a singer/songwriter from Minnesota with a passion for music weather it may be writing the songs or singing them. After emailing with Crystal I found out just how deep her passion for her music and family really goes. So here goes my Q & A with Crystal and we hope you like it!

What made you decide to write songs? I've been playing piano since I was 6 years old, and sung in choirs ect. since I was young as well. This past Winter I realized that since I love performing for others I should actively trying to share my gifts  with others. I started out playing piano a couple of nights at a local restaurant but that wasn't enough for me. I wanted to sing and give others the same feeling I get when I hear live music.

Has writing always been a passion of yours? I started up an acoustic duo in February. I started writing songs in April because I wanted to have original music so I could eventually record. I've only been writing for a few months but I love it.

Adam said that you are a songwriter, have you thought about singing the songs yourself? I met Adam because I randomly added him on Facebook for the purpose of networking. I had no idea who he was but I'm really glad I added him!

I am planning to sing as many songs that I can write as possible but I'm definitely open to pitching them to other artists as well.

Is your songs based off of experience?  A lot of what I write is based off experience. I also like to write songs that touch on topics that are rarely written about or from a new angle. I get my ideas from thoughts and experiences I have,  from a phrase or story I hear that makes me think "Hey! This would make a great song!"

I love doing interviews and post this way because I love hearing/reading what they have to say and learning their process for their song writting and recording styles. I love hearing about how they get their inspirations for their music and I am thankful that these amazing talented artist give me the chance to write about them and their passion. Thank you Crystal for taking the time and giving me what I needed to write this article.

The Raging Sea By Broadside

                     The Raging Sea

Yo! our boys did it again!!! So far in 2020 Broadside released 2 bangers "Foolish Believer & The Raging Sea" and also signed with Sharptone Records(wow). These guys are one of my favorite bands and they always blow me away and keep me guessing with what they will come up with next. They know what they want and where they want to go in this industry and they are not afraid to go after it.
In The Raging Sea you hear the lyrics "Can I make it out, Will I make it out. Is there any point, What's the fucking point" and that makes you wonder what Oliver's mindset was. As I'm a huge fan, after meeting and interviewing him I don't take it as he is depressed but I take it as him writting about past experiences and that will always make for mindblowing songs.

Broadside has an album being released sometime this year(maybe next due to the pandemic) and I can not wait to see where it goes because so far they released 2 singles off their next album "The Raging Sea & Foolish Believer" and those songs are amazing so I'm thinking the rest of the album is going to be just as good or better. Now back to "The Raging Sea" it gives me goose bumps everytime I listen to it. As I love working with Victory Records, I am so happy that Broadside has found their home with SharpTone Records and these 2 singles is just the start with this team.

Carousel Kings @ Black Forge Coffee House

There is no secret that we LOVE seeing Carousel Kings in concert and we will do so anytime we get the chance. This band is made up of 5 very talented guys with a bond that makes their friendship more like a brotherhood. Their talent, passion, and friendship is the perfect recipe for amazing music, and an even brighter future.

On March 22, 2018 we got the opportunity to cover their show in Pittsburgh, Pa at the Black Forge Coffee House and once again we was not disappointed. This is a band that is very interactive with their fans before, during and after their shows, they run their merch table and they ALWAYS take the time to sit and talk with their fans and honestly you can not ask for a better quality in a band.

This show was very entertaining as they pulled the crowd into every part of their set. There was tons of laughs and random songs that was not on their set list, let's just say that Dave can really do a great impression of Axle Rose of Guns N Roses while covering "Sweet Child O' Mine" and of course the cover of Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl". I love their energy, their way of making you apart of their shows and absolutely love the fact that they love small venues. Their venue selections makes their shows even more personal, now how many bands have you seen that keeps you feeling like your the only ones in the room?

The one thing that continues to stand out with this amazing band is, no matter how many times you see them in concert you will never feel like you have seen the same show twice. Every show, performance, set list and their energy is NEVER the same and that is always a huge plus. You may see artist/bands more then once but if it's the same show every time then at some point you are not going to keep going and that is one thing we never worry about with Carousel Kings.
Carousel Kings is a band we will continue to follow, support, and definitely see as much as we can even if we are driving 3-4hrs away just to see them. If you haven't seen them yet then please check them out when they come close to you, check out their music on Spotify, Apple Music ect. and I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you to Carousel Kings and Victory Records for having us!

Mayhem Rockstar Magazine: Rock Metal Showcase!!!!

Hear it. See it. Live it

If you love music and come on let's face it MOST people do! and live in Columbus, Ohio or in Ohio in general then this is the show you should have been at. There is so many different genre's and so many artist/bands pushing the limits of their genre and it is so exciting! This is one of those shows that had it ALL. Well we got to attend and we were blown away by these talented artist.

Avanti- This band is from Cinninatti, Ohio and we have actually never heard of this band before and this is exactly why we attend concerts that we may listen to 1 artist but not the other. It's always fun and amazing to hear new talent like Avanti. Their passion, their energy and the drive to put on a kick ass performance was absolutely amazing. This artist is one that we will follow and support because you know that something big is coming from these guys!

I, Apollo- These guys are another local band here in Ohio and oh my god! We really didn't know how these guys would be in concert because once again we never heard of them. I know, I know! how could we not know about them, I mean come on they are local. We are so glad that we got the chance to see these guys because their performance was absolutely mind blowing. They made the crowd apart of their performance from standing on a table in the middle of the crowd to standing on the bar. This is one of those bands that you know is going to go far just like Avanti because they have the passion and the drive and that is something that makes them who they are and they are definitely going to go far and we can NOT wait to see what else they have in store for the world.
I, Apollo

Harmless Habit- I noticed from these guys that they have the drive and passion however I don't know what it was I just couldn't get into the music. With that being said I will definitely check them out again because I love their passion and their energy they had during their performance. Can not wait for their next show to see what they have to offer during it and we will continue to pay attention to what you are doing in the future!

A Decade Apart-  So it's no secret that we are die hard fans of  these amazing guys and this is our 3rd time covering this band and I can truly say we are NEVER disappointed. Their stage presence and their performance is out of this world! They truly have so much respect and appreciation for their fans that it's more like family then artist & fans! We are sad that they are taking a break to put out new music but at the same time so excited for Spring so we have more concerts from these guys and of course the rerlease of a new EP. Hurry back soon guys it's only been 4 days and we are already wanting another concert from you!

Thank you to all of the bands that put on a great show on Saturday Jan. 6th, 2018! We can not wait to see what the rest of 2018 holds for you.

Carousel Kings

                 Carousel Kings

Do you like exploring new music? New bands or Artist? Do you like to go out and just enjoy a great concert? Well give these amazing guys a listen!!! no matter what type of music you are into these guys have the passion and talent that will make you say WOW. We got to sit down with the one and only Carousel Kings before their show with Ice Nine Kills and The Plot In You on 12/1/17 in Pittsburgh, Pa which turned out amazing. We were so nervous during the interview and forgot some of the questions that we wanted to ask but they were understanding about it and we thank them for that.

We also got to see them again on 12/10 in Kent, Ohio and that was our 3rd time seeing them and everytime we saw them they always have a different style and a deeper passion for their music and their fans.
They are one of the bands that no matter where you are in the venue they ALWAYS make sure that you know that they are very grateful for your support. All 3 times we saw them we never once felt like it was "Just another show" because they are definitely not that type of band.

They make sure that they run their merch table and they take the time to talk and laugh with fans and honestly out of  all the concerts we have attended this year(which was A LOT) Carousel Kings are by far the best! From our first time seeing them at Fan Day in Cleveland, Ohio to our most recent in Kent, Ohio. If/when they come to a town near you stop in and check them out and stop by their merch table and say hi because out of all of the bands we have seen and met these guys by far were the least intimidating because of their down to earth personalities.

We can not wait to see these guys again(hopefully soon) because we need one last blow out concert from The Kings to end 2017! We can not wait to see what they have in store for us in 2018. So if you haven't already checked out their music then you should head over to YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify or whatever you use to listen to your music on and check out their latest album Charm City! I promise you will not be disappointed!
