Carousel Kings: The Launch Tour

          Carousel Kings

Have you ever wonder what happens when a band experiences technical difficulties? What's the band feeling? what is their process in these situations? Well Carousel Kings had a little technical difficulties when they came to Columbus, Ohio on April 8th, 2018 however they overcame that like the champs that they are. They took that opportunity to lighten up the mood and threw in some Blink 182's "What's My Age Again". Now I know that every time we covered these guys the post are always good and that is because these guy's know how to make it a night you won't forget. We have seen these guy's 5 times and we have not been disappointed at all.

With Dave's vocals, Cody's skilled bass playing, Will and Clint on their amazing guitar riffs and of course Daniel's amazing drumming is the perfect recipe for the best cup of coffee that you continue to crave. As I have said before and will continue to point out these guy's never put on the same show twice. Every performance, set list ect is always different and that is what really sets these guy's apart from other national bands.

These guy's are down to earth, fun and overall great guy's that continue to show their love and appreciation for every fan big and SMALL. Even when they have been driving for hours and they are extremely tired they still continue to kill it with amazing performances and down to earth personalities.

Thank you Carousel Kings for another amazing performance and making a little girl's dream become a reality.

In Loving Memory: Introspective

                                        Introspective

In Loving Memory is a catchy band name, right? well it really intrigued me. So I did my research as usual and the sound is different from what we normally listen to BUT it is good and now saved to our playlist. It's hard to find music now days with true meaning and the passion that these guys have and I am impressed to say the least. If you have heard of them then you already know how good they are and if you haven't then YOU SHOULD! I personally love "Weathered & Dreamer".

I wish our readers would give these guys a listen because they 100% deserve it and through their music you can hear their passion and determination. These guys are going somewhere and I can not wait to see where this takes them and hopefully one day be able to see them living their dream in concert and hopefully a blog interview. Thank you for sharing your music with the world and letting us know about it through Twitter.

Gossip! Sleeping With Sirens

                Sleeping With Sirens: Gossip!

Who is excited about this new album from your boys in SWS? I know we are and that is why I decided to do the review on it. All thoughts and opinions are those of my own. When the album title was announced I was hooked and thinking this is going to be good.

Gossip- My take on Gossip is that SWS is trying to say "Hey you are going to hear a lot of things about us that is not true".  Now days they media makes things bigger then what it really is rather it be an artist saying something or doing something.

Legends- My take on this song is SWS saying "Look you can say what you want about us but in the end we will still be here and continue to share our music with the world and hope that people will be able to just be them and  what the world thinks they should be"

Empire To Ashes- I'm not going to play by your rules, this is who we are and you don't have to like it. You can try to bring us down but in the end we will still be here and being true to who we are.

Cheers- It does not matter how you chose to live your life, you are important in this world so raise your glass and cheer for what you have accomplished so far in your life.

Trouble- Feeling like they have seprated their selves from the people that believed in them the most  and they don't know how to get back to that support system but they will not give up on trying.

One Man Army- This song is screaming the message about how Kellin feels! He may be the frontman/voice of SWS but in the end this band is made up of  5 guys(Kellin, Justin, Gabe, Nick, and Jack) and all of these guys make it work! The rest of the guys need to be credited as well.

Closer- My take on this one is them saying "We have been burned, brought down ect but hey we are STILL here"

Hole In My Heart- I take this one as SWS over coming depression because in all honesty everybody has had a bit of depression in their lives and it's nothing to be ashamed of because there is people that care and that's where the course comes in "It's okay, show them who you are. Everybody hurts, everybody's got scars, It's okay, standing in the dark. Shine a little light from the hole in my heart".

I Need To Know- Everyone goes through break ups, Right? it's apart of life so why not talk about it even though it may hurt but there is a reason for that break up to happen. God has a plan for us all and he will never give you more then you can handle.

The Chase- I believe is saying hey I'm not here for the media, I'm here for the our fans that believe  in us and our music. a

War- Now it feels like they are getting a little insecure by saying "A war that can't be won" it's saying that society is the war and as long as we hide behind our fears then the bad in this world has won.

This album is the medias worst nightmare because it is telling them "Hey, we do not care what you say about us. We are going to continue to do what we love to do no matter what you throw our way and we will win."
When SWS decided to name the abum "Gossip" they really nailed it! They have addressed the issues in the world today and then some. Their sound is softer opposed to their previous sound and guess what? no matter how much their sound changes it is STILL amazing!!!!!! Great Job guys!!!!!

An Amazing Night Of Music With State Champs, Homesafe, Sleep On It, Bearings

                         What An Amazing Night!

So going to concerts is always a blast especially when the headlining band is one of your all time favorite bands. Then you get to hear new music from bands you never heard of because they happen to be the opening bands and that can go 3 ways Great, Mutual or bad and luckily we maybe experienced a "bad" performance a couple of times. So now I'm just going to dive into this blog about these amazing bands so I hope you enjoy!

                                                  Bearings!

Bearings is a band out of Ottawa, Canada and this band is special! I am shocked that we have not heard more about them but I'm so glad that we actually got the chance to see them because they are really good. Their energy on stage and being able to grab the audience attention with the first song and keeping that attention for the rest of their set is a huge deal. Out of all the concerts we have been to, I know from experience that energy, entertainment, and overall good music is the key. We have at times could not get into the music or performance and just started playing games on our phones HOWEVER this is NOT one of those bands! This band had our attention throughout their whole set and we absolutely loved their performance. I truly look forward to seeing the guys again if they ever come back to Ohio(crossing my fingers). I also had the chance to meet the singer Doug after and he was a really nice guy, down to earth and most importantly he thanked us for coming out to see them play. He knew that people were there for State Champs but was really greatful that people was there early enough to see their set. these guys are going to a whole different level! Stay kind, sweet, humble and thankful because that makes you stand out beyond your fantastic music

                                             Sleep On It!

Sleep On It is another great band, this was actually our 2nd time seeing them and I have to admit we were not disappointed either time. They know how to make it exciting and it keeps you wanting more from them, they are sweet and down to earth but most importantly they are passionate about what they do and what not a better way to bring all different types of people together then through awesome music! We are just counting down to concert #3 with these kick ass guys! Stay humble guys and continue to put on kick ass shows and continue to show your appreciation for your fans.

                                           HomeSafe!

HomeSafe is another band we have not heard of before this concert and their sound is unique and very interesting. They were entertaining and kept you guessing as to what the next song in their set was going to sound like. We were impressed with their performance and we will be watching to see what the future holds for these talented young men, Great job guys and can not wait to see ya guys again!

                                  State Champs!!!

Now the reason we got to see these 3 other amazing bands, State Champs. It's no secret that my kids and I are huge fans of State Champs and that is because they are amazing. Their music is fantastic, their performance are very entertaining, and they show mad love and appreciation to their fans, which is a big deal. We have had the pleasure of seeing these guys 5 times since 2016 Vans Warped Tour and never once was we disappointed so as long as they keep coming back to Ohio or close to it, we will be there! We also had the pleasure of meeting Ryan and Derek @ Fan Day 2017 and they are truly amazing guys to get to talk to and their passion for their music and their fans is truly mind blowing. I have 3 kids 16 year old son and a 14 year old daughter which was with me on fan day but their 5 year old little sister did not get to go because it was in Cleveland BUT Derek was so kind to record a video for her saying hi. Now I know your probably thinking "She is 5, what does she know about State Champs, Right? she has a lot of knowledge about State Champs, Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil ect and she attended the APMA'S Red Carpet 2016 because it was here in Columbus, Ohio. She loves State Champs and she knows their songs and her favorite is secrets. She watches the video from Derek at least 10 times a day(I'm not kidding) and I am very thankful that he took the time to make her feel special as they do with all of their fans.
They put on amazing shows(even the ones that get shut down for 5 minutes at Fan Day 2017). We are ready for them to hit the studio again because hey new music = a lot more concerts with these bad asses! Also Mr. Ryan Scott Graham(Speak Low If You Speak Love) will be on tour with Neck Deep and in Ohio in February. So if you need more of a State Champs fix before they hit the road again go check out Speak Low! There is no doubt that these guys are genius's and we are already missing these guys(hurry back to Ohio) and their tour is not even over yet. Thank you guys once again for another kick ass show!

Throw Back Thursday Ft. All American Rejects

Okay so we have a Throw Back Thursday on Facebook, right? so we are going to do a blog with a throw back Thursday with music! Exciting right? So on our very first "tbt" post we are going to feature the one & only All American Rejects.
On November 21, 2008 All American Rejects came to Columbus Ohio & threw a free concert at the LC now known as Express Live the day before the Ohio State/Michigan game.    People stood outside for hours! It was cold & raining however the 13 hour wait was so worth it.
I understand that some people may not be a fan of AAR and that's okay. These guys know how to put on a fantastic show and keep your attention.
                   It's blurry because
                   Tyson was so close!

WNCI Summer In The City

On August 11th, I went to WNCI's summer in the city concert at Express Live in Columbus Ohio. At the show Liberty Deep Down, Hey Violet, AJR, Kyle, and Jon Bellion preformed. In this post I am going to talk about each artist and what was good and bad about them.

First was Liberty Deep Down. I had never heard of them before the concert. I don't really have much to say about them and their performance. I thought that they were pretty entertaining, I don't really listen to the type of music that they played so I didn't really enjoy it that much. I did think that they had a really good guitar player.

Next was Hey Violet, Hey Violet are one of my favorite bands and I listen to them all the time. I was honestly most excited for them because they were the only band there that I really liked that I haven't already seen. I was a little bit scared when I got to the venue that they weren't going to be as good as I expected and as good as I wanted them to be, but as soon as I got to the venue I could hear them sound checking and it sounded really good. During their actual set they were really entertaining and energetic. One thing I liked a lot is all of their studio songs have a lot of electric noises in them and live there wasn't as much as there usually is. Another thing I liked was that the drums were really loud but I could still everything else, usually drums are either too quiet or they're too loud and they drown all of the other instruments and singing out.

Then was AJR, like Hey Violet they are one of my favorite bands, this was my fourth time seeing them and I'm not tired of seeing them and I don't think I ever will be. Like the first three times I saw them, they were very energetic and entertaining. One thing I didn't like was they didn't have that much time to play which was disappointing. I would really suggest listening to them and seeing them if you have the chance to.

After them was Kyle. I have listened to Kyle before but not much, I was also really excited to see him. He was the most energetic person at the whole concert. I also don't have much to say about him either other than he was very entertaining.

Finally was Jon Bellion. I personally don't like him that much, I did think that it was fun to watch him. I didn't like that during his set was when the crowd was the least energetic. I like being in energetic crowds with a lot of jumping and during him there wasn't any jump just a lot of arm movement. Other then that I enjoyed him I thought that he had a really good guitar player too and I liked that it was more like rap than I expected.

My Opinion On "As December Falls"

As December Falls is a pop punk band from Nottingham in the UK and after making a Twitter account for our blog I had the pleasure of hearing their music and I have to say I'm hooked! which is hard for me to get hooked on 1 type of artist, band or sound because my taste in music ranges from Selena to Marilyn Manson so we listen to everything. However Bethany Curtis has a unique voice but the sound reminds me of a mix of  You Me At Six and Paramore.

After I have binged their music all day I can honestly say that my top 5 favorite songs are "More To You, Keep Dreaming, Everything You Say, Always Set On Letting Go, & Capture".  I connected with these songs because of the lyrics and the passion she had while singing them and the lyrics told their story and what was happening in their lives at that time. This is a band that I will follow very closely and I can not wait to have the opportunity to attend one of their concerts.
If they can get your attention and keep it just by the songs they put out then usually their live performances are fantastic, who doesn't love a good performance when they go to concerts? I know my kids and I do! So my last thought for this is that this band is going to go really far and I can not wait to get the chance to see them in concert and If you have not heard their music then I suggest checking them out. A big thank you goes out to As December Falls for the opportunity to write this blog!

My Nephew's Very 1st Concert!!!!

My children & I go to so many concerts and we do the whole sitting outside the venue for hours before the show so we can get as close as possible(we love the pit). We go to so many concerts that I had finally decided to take my 11 year old nephew Aiden to his very first concert and for his first concert we took him to see All Time Low, Waterparks, The Wrecks & SWMRS. Not bad for his first concert, Right?

So during our 12 hour wait in the pouring down rain I had decided to take him to Starbucks to get a drink & to use the restroom before too many people showed up and we lost our spot in the line. As we get to Starbucks & head towards the restrooms while the man made our drinks There was Geoff Wigington(the guitarist & back up vocalist) of Waterparks. It was not a huge deal for me because after going to so many music events/concerts you end up running into them at warped tour or fan day before the Alternative Press Music Awards but it was a huge deal for Aiden. So I walked over & said hi then I introduced him to Aiden & had explained that this was his first concert & that he was extremely nervous. Geoff had a conversation with Aiden about his first concert and how he was nervous his first concert as well. Geoff then asked my nephew to come and find them by the buses after the show because he wanted to know how it turned out for him, Geoff then took his guitar pick out of his pocket and gave it to Aiden and took a picture with him

So after the meeting with Geoff we went on about our business and as we headed to through the hall towards the bathroom Awsten Knight(Lead singer & guitarist) was walking towards us so of course we said hi & he also was sweet enough to take a picture with Aiden. So when the concert was over we did not ask Aiden about his opinion or thoughts about the show, we went over by the buses and allowed Geoff to have that conversation with him and as it turned out he had the time of his life! then Awsten, Geoff, & Otto took a group picture with my nephew. These 3 guys made it a very special night for Aiden and I will be forever grateful.
